Reliance Jio has announced that starting July 3, they will be increasing their mobile service rates for the first time in about two-and-a-half years.
The price of the lowest recharge pack is going up from ₹15 to ₹19, which is about a 27% increase for a 1 GB data add-on pack.
The 75 GB postpaid data plan will now cost ₹449, up from the previous ₹399.
The price of the popular ₹666 unlimited plan with 84-day validity will increase to ₹799, a hike of about 20%.
While announcing these new plans, Jio emphasized that it remains committed to offering high-quality service at affordable prices.
Jio highlighted its rapid 5G rollout, stating that nearly 85% of the total 5G cells operational in India are from Jio.
Jio continues to provide unlimited 5G data on its leading plans at no additional cost to users.
Akash Ambani, chairperson of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, noted that the new plans are aimed at promoting industry innovation and sustainable growth through investments in 5G and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
He emphasized the importance of high-quality, affordable internet as the backbone of Digital India, reaffirming Jio’s commitment to putting the country and its customers first.
