Popular K-pop idol Karina of the girl group aespa has been confirmed to be dating Korean actor Lee Jae-wook by both of their agencies. This new celebrity couple has been the talk of the town amongst K-pop and K-drama fans.
Karina, 21, and Lee Jae-wook, 33, first met on the sets of a reality show in May 2022. As per their agencies SM Entertainment and KeyEast, the stars have been dating for the past 5 months.
Lee Jae-wook is a veteran actor known for hit K-dramas like Search: WWW, Extraordinary You, and Alchemy of Souls. Karina is the main dancer and vocalist of aespa, one of the top K-pop girl groups today.
Despite their 12-year age gap, Karina and Jae-wook were able to find connection and romance on the reality show. This is Karina’s first public relationship since her debut, while Jae-wook was previously linked to his co-star Kim Go-eun.
After Dispatch broke the dating news, fans of both the K-pop idol and K-drama star have flooded social media with congratulatory messages. However, some netizens also expressed concern over the age difference.
SM Entertainment and KeyEast have requested fans to show support for the new celebrity couple. Karina and Jae-wook will also be acting together in an upcoming web series titled ‘Love Game’.
