TV actor Rituraj Singh, renowned for portraying Yashpal in the popular series Anupamaa, passed away at 59 due to a cardiac arrest, confirmed by actor Amit Behl on February 20, 2024.

Singh, who recently battled a pancreatic disease, had been hospitalized for stomach issues and was discharged a few days prior to his sudden demise around 12:30 am at his home.

The news prompted condolences from fellow industry members, with actor Arshad Warsi expressing grief over the loss of a friend and talented actor.

Hansal Mehta fondly remembered Singh as an untapped actor and warm human, highlighting their friendship from the time they worked together on the daily soap K Street Pali Hill.

Rituraj Singh's notable television roles included appearances in shows like Banegi Apni Baat, Jyoti, Hitler Didi, Shapath, Warrior High, Aahat, Adaalat, Diya and Aur Baati Hum, and Laado 2.

He also made contributions to films such as Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), Vash- Possessed by the Obsessed, Thunivu (2023), and his last film, Yaariyan 2, released the previous year.

Beyond television and film, Singh had a presence in web series like The Test Case, Hey Prabhu, Criminal, Abhay, Bandish Bandits, Never Kiss Your Best Friend, and Made in Heaven season 2.
