Persistent Heat in Chicago with a Chance of Thunderstorms on Thursday

The Chicago area will continue to experience warm temperatures for the rest of the week and into the weekend, with a possibility of a stray thunderstorm on Thursday.

After temperatures soared into the 90s on Wednesday, there will be a slight dip on Thursday, with highs expected to reach the mid-to-upper 80s. Cooler conditions are anticipated near the lakefront.

While this minor cooldown will be appreciated, it will bring a chance of thunderstorms.

The risk of storms will persist each day this week as the hot weather continues into Saturday, which is expected to have the highest temperatures and the greatest likelihood of stormy weather.

Highs in the low-to-mid 90s are forecasted for both Friday and Saturday.

The good news is that relief from the heat is expected by Sunday, with highs finally dropping back into the mid-to-upper 80s.
