The most recent project from Ryan Murphy has officially debuted on FX. Titled “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans,” this eight-episode limited series, part of Murphy’s “Feud” anthology, premiered with a double episode on Wednesday night.
Based on Laurence Leamer’s bestselling book “Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era,” the series explores the dynamic between Truman Capote and a group of affluent and glamorous women he dubbed “the swans.”
As per FX’s synopsis, the season delves into Capote’s close relationship with these women, portraying him as ingratiating himself into their lives, earning their friendship and trust, only to ultimately betray them by crafting a thinly veiled fictionalization of their lives, exposing their most intimate secrets.
The inaugural season of the anthology, titled “Feud: Bette and Joan,” originally aired on FX in 2017. It centered around the rivalry between Jessica Lange’s portrayal of Joan Crawford and Susan Sarandon’s depiction of Bette Davis during their collaboration on the 1962 film “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?”
